The Nova Scotia Liquor Commission -Effective Thursday, May 21, stores will be open until 9:00 p.m. Thursday to Saturday. Store hours Monday to Wednesday will remain the same – opening at 10:00 a.m. and closing at 6:00 p.m. with all stores closed on Sundays.
Restaurants are only be able to provide takeout or delivery services and all bars will be required to close.
Access Nova Scotia extending the date for driver licences and vehicle registrations expiring in March, April and May to August 31st
Education
• All public schools in Nova Scotia have been closed until further notice.
• Dalhousie University and the University of King’s College in Halifax, as well as MSVU – will have their September semester done completely by distance education
Other Services
Starting June 5th- the following establishments can open:
- Restaurants for dine-in.
- Bars, wineries, distilleries and craft beer taprooms.
- Personal services like hair salons, barber shops, nail salons, spas and tattoo parlours.
- Fitness facilities like gyms, yoga studios and climbing facilities.
- Veterinarians.
Other health providers can also reopen on June 5 if they follow protocols in their college or association’s plan, as approved by public health, including:
- Dentistry and other self-regulated health professions such as optometry, chiropractic and physiotherapy.
- Unregulated health professions such as massage therapy, podiatry and naturopathy.
• Daycares in Nova Scotia are able to open at a 50% capacity starting June 15th
• All Nova Scotia long-term facilities are closed to all visitors in Nova Scotia.
• Dentists in Nova Scotia are being told by their provincial board to immediately suspend all non-essential and elective dental services. The provincial dental board says emergency treatment should continue.
• National Museums of Canada, including Pier 21, have closed until further notice.
• All Nova Scotia Museum sites and the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia in Halifax will close until further notice.
• Halifax and CBRM Public Libraries are closed until further notice
• Nova Scotia Supreme Court has suspended all upcoming jury trials for a 60-day period.
• All Cape Breton Regional Municipality buildings will be closed to the public.
• Immigration Services Association of Nova Scotia has cancelled all in-person classes, programs, and workshops until further notice
• The Halifax Mayor’s Office has been closed until further notice.
• Tourism Nova Scotia Provincial Visitor Information Centres to close until further notice.
• VIA Rail Canada is suspending its Canadian and Ocean operations, its long distance eastern and western routes, until further notice
